Goji Kitchen + Bar and Copper Beyond Buffet are top-notch buffets in Thailand’s capital. Discover how they compare.
Bangkok is full of great casual restaurants as well as excellent yet affordable fine dining, so you might think it’s a place to avoid the humble buffet. However, you would be wrong and here’s why. Buffet dining is an integral part of the culinary scene in Bangkok because it offers a diverse range of cuisines to suit the many tastes and budgets in the Thai capital, which was the most visited city in the world in 2024. A truly great buffet combines excellent, high-quality cuisine with the opportunity for the customer to try as many different dishes as possible for one price.
During a recent stay in Bangkok, we sought out a couple of these legendary all-you-can-eat restaurants. Both were excellent experiences but very different in their offerings and format. Here are two fantastic buffets to consider, as well as everything you need to know before you make a reservation.

Arrival and Layout
This restaurant in the Marriott Marquis was an enormous space with a lot of different stations. As we entered and were shown to our table, there was the bar to the right where you could order beer, wine or cocktails (which were extra). We stuck to water and tea for this meal. There was a large station with fresh seafood on ice – langoustines, crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams and snails. Right next to it was the sushi station, which offered an assortment of rolls and nigiri as well as sashimi.
Other stations included a salad bar (and a caesar salad prepared inside a wheel of parmesan); grilled fish and meats like prime rib, wagyu beef, salmon and sea bass; pasta and Italian dishes like eggplant parmesan; Thai and other Asian specialties such as noodle dishes, curries and soups; a Mediterranean station (one of our favorites) which featured grilled seafood skewers, tabouli and other salads, grilled vegetables, borek (a Balkan cheese pastry), olives and pickles; and, of course, a vast multi-level dessert case (plus a mango sticky rice station).
The Food
We found all the food delicious. We would take turns filling a plate at a station, then compare notes and swap bites in order to try everything. We went back to our favorites over and over again. For me, this was fresh-shucked oysters which featured five varieties from Thailand and France, plus fresh shrimp and crab legs, as well as the Mediterranean bar. Mark loved the sushi and grilled meats but we sampled some of the Asian dishes including tom yum and the stir-fry station.
Our Opinion of Goji Kitchen
We appreciated the wide variety of types of international cuisine, from Asian to western and Mediterranean, with lots of delicious fresh seafood and sushi. The space was elegant and well-organized and never felt crowded. Another important factor to mention is that they gave us three hours to dine. The hard part was saving room for dessert but I highly recommend that you do.

Copper Beyond Buffet | Gaysorn Amarin
Price: $75 per person with lobster tail
Details: When you book, you have a bunch of packages to choose from at various price points. We chose the first one, which included a Baked and Torched Canadian Lobster Tail with Trio Cheese Velouté. It was delicious and we were happy with our choice; other options include Australian wagyu tomahawk, Russian caviar, New Zealand lamb, and unlimited lobster.
Arrival
After our experience at Goji Kitchen, our first impression of Copper Beyond (we chose the location in the Gaysorn Amarin mall) was more chaotic. We arrived at our check-in time of 5 pm (there are two seatings) to find a huge mass of people waiting around for it to open. It was a little confusing figuring out what to do, where to check in, and so on. However, there was a room off to right where we gave our name, then we jumped into the massive line that formed and wrapped way down and back. We were certain that this was going to take a while and be a huge free-for-all, but incredibly they seated everyone within about five minutes. They were super organized and it was that fast.
Layout of the Buffet
The format of this buffet was different from Goji. It was a combination of ordering dishes to be delivered to your table and grabbing items that were already prepared. The dishes for order were presented on a picture board by number; you just order the ones you want, then give them your table number. Then you can walk around while you wait and grab the things you want to eat in the meantime, like fresh oysters, truffle soup and croissant (for which they are famous), shrimp tempura, and so on. There were several stations, like soup, fried foods, fresh seafood, and sushi (overall fewer options than Goji but also less overwhelming), and you could also order off the same picture board at each station.
The dishes for order arrive one by one, each beautifully plated and artfully presented as it would be at a fine dining restaurant. We really appreciated this system, as it allowed the dishes to be prepared fresh while cutting down on the waiting.

The Food
We tried a lot of dishes, from fresh meats and seafood, to Thai specialties, to desserts. Everything was pretty delicious. The seafood and sushi offerings weren’t as extensive as at Goji, but the hot dishes offered more of a fine dining experience, which we enjoyed. Copper Beyond has a strict two-hour limit on dining which wasn’t really a problem but important to be aware of.
Our Opinion of Copper Beyond
Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Copper just as much as Goji. We loved being able to quickly order, then move on to food we could eat immediately. My only complaint about the food board was that the English print was so small I had to bring my reading glasses and get right on top of it. But I found that the dishes we received looked like the photos and the descriptions were very accurate. Overall, fewer choices than Goji but the dishes were more elevated and similar to a fine dining restaurant.
