We first went to Costa Rica in March of 2008. We liked it so much, we went back four months later, then again in 2009, and most recently, in 2022. It reminds me a little of Hawaii, lush and green, with volcanoes, bananas, pineapples, coconuts and coffee, surfing, and ocean on two sides so it feels like an island. It’s a friendly, happy place with a stable government and so many beautiful places to see. My favorite part of Costa Rica is the wildlife. So many animals and birds!
For our first trip, we flew into San José, the capital, but for the other three, we flew into Liberia, in the northwest. Some of the places we visited:
